300 Lafayette Bills itself as ‘Cutting Edge’ with New Ad Banners
Alive for many months, the project site at 300 Lafayette Street is finally ready to go big on the hype. Banners pimping the new seven-story commercial building were affixed to the sidewalk bridge earlier this month, promising “cutting edge.”
Hard to believe it’s already been a year since the BP gas station at the corner of Lafayette and East Houston shuttered. The Porcelli family, which acquired the “Gasoline Alley” parcel in 1976 and founded Gaseteria, decided to instead redevelop the land. Both the Puck Fair bar and the gas station were quickly disposed of. And the construction continues. (March Associates Construction Inc. is the general contractor for the project.)
The seven-story, 80,000 square-foot building is positioning itself as haven for luxury office and retail.
Here’s a peek behind the plywood. It’s still below ground.
