‘Hemlock’ Opens Tomorrow at the Former Near & Far on Rivington Street

Miller’s Near & Far spent three years at 65 Rivington Street before fading into obscurity in August 2016. Now it’s replacement, Hemlock, is ready to give it a go. The restaurant opens tomorrow after seven months under the knife.

Diego Moya – former sous chef at Mario Batali’s Casa Mono in Union Square – is behind the new fourteen-table concept. The menu specializes in “New American cuisine with focus on vegetables,” and will serve full liquor. And it looks exactly like its predecessor.

Moya last made front-page headlines in 2013, when the Daily News revealed he was victim to an alleged “knockout game” in Philadelphia that left him with broken nose and jaw.
