Cops Nab Perp After 3 Failed Bank Robbery Attempts on the Lower East Side
The twenty-two-year-old perpetrator behind a trio of unsuccessful Lower East Side robbery attempts was nabbed yesterday, police said. His name is Richard Callison of Oradell, NJ.
The man, who donned a fisherman hat and sunglasses, first hit the Bank of America at Delancey and Ludlow Streets on Tuesday afternoon. He allegedly passed a note demanding cash from the teller. Upon refusal, he fled.
Less than a day later – yesterday morning – the same guy stopped into the Chase branch at Delancey and Essex Streets. Same tactics, same failed results. Cops finally caught him at the Citibank further uptown near Union Square (52 East 14th Street).
