Essex Street Market Now Offers Home Delivery
In the twilight of its days at 120 Essex Street, the Essex Street Market continues to reinvent itself. This time, with delivery.
Indeed, the 77-year-old market last week teamed up with Mercato to offer a delivery program for customers. Products offered in-store by food merchants are now available to those still sitting on the couch. Same-day delivery (with $10 minimum). That includes everything from Saxelby Cheesemongers, Tra La La Juice Bar, and Arancini Bros. to Puebla Mexican. Even Rainbo’s Fish is participating.
For the Essex Street Market, however, time is short at its historic location. The warehouse will be bulldozed once business relocates to the so-called Gateway building of Essex Crossing (aka Site 2) next fall. It should be operational by September 2018.
