The replacement was swift and unmerciful.
We lost the venerable Cup & Saucer for this shit. In comes the so-called Canal Pizza.
Signage for the (presumably) cheap-eats newcomer arrived over the holiday weekend, replacing that beautifully faded print with cartoonish iconography. Meanwhile, build-out of the interior has been ongoing the last couple weeks, as previously noted, and appears far from completion.
Cup & Saucer fell victim to a wallet-busting rent gouge back in mid-July. The landlord hiked the monthly take nearly fifty-percent to $15,000 (plus real estate taxes), and the restaurant couldn’t press on.
