Reed Space Returns to Orchard Street Tomorrow, Just as Extra Butter Completes Renovations

After over a year in exile, Reed Space is returning to Orchard Street tomorrow, albeit in a short-form capacity. Once the like-minded Extra Butter boutique returns to its old digs next door, their temporary space at 125 Orchard (the Giselle shop) will welcome the Lower East Side refugee.

Reed Space founder Jeff Staple announced last week that his street-style boutique is back on the block, and on the verge of opening a month-long pop-up endeavor here. Upon its debut, the interior will loosely imitate a New York City construction site, including green plywood boards and blogger windows. Behind the wood fence is a recreation of the old store format.

Through the end of November, this Reed Space “lite” will offer a selection of holiday and Staple 20th anniversary collections for customers to scoop up.

Meanwhile, Extra Butter is simultaneously poised to move back into its OG location next door. The through-block store underwent months of remodeling, and the movie theater marquee is already alight on the Allen Street facade.

Former Red Square Retail Demolished for New Development
