‘Hedgehog Coffee’ Moves in as Konditori Fades from Allen Street
Konditori is kaput.
The narrow, Swedish espresso bar at 182 Allen Street – one in a local chain – gave up the ghost within the last couple weeks. Yet the space didn’t stay vacant long. In fact, another coffee shop just took over.
Meet Hedgehog Coffee. There isn’t much difference to report here, save for swapping storefront signage.
Konditori first opened on Allen Street in February 2011. No word on why it closed; ownership did not immediately respond to our request for comment. Meantime, the business still maintains sister locations in Park Slope, Prospect Heights, Williamsburg, and the Financial District.
