’BIVE’ Healthy Ice Cream Shop Now Open on Orchard Street

A new breed of ice creameries debuted this weekend at 95 Orchard Street.

Under construction the last few months, BIVE serves health-driven “ice cream with purpose.” It’s essentially a cross between your typical scoop shop and that trendy juice counter that’s always near the gym.

Their menu boasts “pro-healthy sorbets and ice creams,” with non-traditional flavors that include ingredients like Echinacea, Aloe Vera, oak milk, and Soursop.

Specialty popcorn purveyor, Pop Karma, previously spent six years at 95 Orchard Street before its demise last February. Ice cream is certainly in the ancestry of this address. il Laboratorio del Gelato occupied the space for eight years until it moved to 180 Ludlow in November 2010 (but they later returned for a brief pop-up).
