‘Le Turtle’ Goes Under After 3 Years on Chrystie Street

Le Turtle is no more.
The popular French-American restaurant at the southeast corner of Chrystie and Rivington Streets shuttered at the end of January after just over three years in business. A sign on the window announces the news, yet teases “more announcements soon.”
Le Turtle launched at 177 Chrystie Street in December 2015. The nightspot was a darling of the food media world given its pedigree – Taavo Somer (Freemans) and Carlos Quirarte (The Smile) – and positive acclaim out of the gate.
