Venezuelan ‘Areppas’ Chain Eyes Cleveland Place in Little Italy

May 2017
A Venezuelan cafe that debuted in Midtown East two years ago is now headed to Little Italy.
Areppas (stylized with two P’s) is currently eyeing the vacated retail storefront at 25 Cleveland Place, an address that spent two years as an outpost of PokéSpot.
As you might surmise, the fast-casual establishment offers an array of arepas. There are various flavors of the griddled corn cakes, which can be stuffed with an assortment of proteins and vegetables.
Areppas is going for a beer-wine license, and will appear before Community Board 2 next month, according to the latest agenda.
Also, its corporate name suggests – “Areppas 3” – that Cleveland Place is the third location of the local fast-casual chain. Plus the requisite food truck.
