Report: Apple Hunts for Office Space at Essex Crossing
Apple might land on the Lower East Side.
Based in Cupertino, California, Apple only maintains a small real estate presence in the city, primarily limited to its popular retail stores. However, the press is buzzing about if/when the corporate giant will plant larger roots here.
Rather notable is a piece in Bloomberg yesterday noting that Apple is sniffing around Essex Crossing. The report states that tour happened “as recently as two months ago.”
The tidbit is buried in a larger story regarding the company’s real estate aspirations in New York City.
If Apple came aboard, it would likely take a lion’s share of the commercial square-footage at Essex Crossing. The company is reportedly seeking about 250,000 square-feet.
