City is Distributing Free Face Masks this Weekend
Here’s your chance to snag a face mask if you haven’t already. On the house.
Over the next few days, New York City will pass out free face coverings to the public at large. This is part of an ongoing effort to protect city dwellers from COVID-19, and correlates with the mask wearing mandate issued by Andrew Cuomo in mid-April. Distribution is to take place at various city parks.
For Lower East Siders, here are the closest locations to pick up a free face covering:
Alfred E. Smith Recreation Center (80 Catherine Street) – Sunday May 3, 10am-12pm.
East River Park, Promenade at E 6th Street – Monday May 4, 10am-12pm.
