The Mechanics Alley Mural Tribute to Soccer Legends
Mechanics Alley? Call it Maradona Alley, as it now has a flair for football. European, that is.
The grungy, de-mapped street alongside the Manhattan Bridge is now a bit cleaned up with some stunning mural work. Street artist BKFOXX imparted portraits of some soccer greats on the facade of The Ground.
There are a total of five players and coaches honored on these walls. And the facial details in each is quite impressive. Diego Maradona (Argentina), Johan Cruyff (Netherlands), George Best (Manchester United), Franco Baresi (Italy) and Sir Alex Ferguson (Manchester United) all appear.
The Ground is on target to open later this month, subject to city and state mandates, of course.
