The former personal assistant of Fahim Saleh is in custody for the gruesome murder and dismemberment of his old boss in his Lower East Side condo.
Tyrese Devon Haspil, 21, was arrested in connection with the crime and is expected to be charged with the murder of Saleh — who was found decapitated and dismembered inside his Lower East Side apartment on Tuesday afternoon.
However, he was killed the day before, with Haspil allegedly zapping him with a taser and then fatally stabbing him, according to published reports. Haspil then allegedly returned on Tuesday to chop up the body and rinse the crime scene. Saleh’s body was later found stuffed in garbage bags next to a saw.
Security footage from inside the elevator of 265 East Houston shows Haspil using a portable vacuum to try and cover his tracks.
The motive behind this slaying allegedly involves stolen cash, sources told the New York Post. The 33-year-old entrepreneur learned that Haspil allegedly stole $100,000 from him. Yet, rather than ratting him out to police, Saleh arranged a repayment plan with his future killer. Haspil allegedly reneged on the deal at some point.
Haspil doubled as chief of staff at Saleh’s venture capital firm, Adventure Capital.
