Zazzy’s Pizza Soft Launches in the Old Home of Rosario’s
With Rosario’s Pizza now a proverbial footnote, its successor is now in play.
Zazzy’s Pizza is now serving on Orchard Street, albeit in soft launch mode for the last couple weeks.
For starters, the health-conscious pizzeria (there are plant-based vegan options) is open for dinner service, 5pm-10pm daily. The takeout window at 173 Orchard is open until midnight on Friday and Saturdays. Ownership anticipates a “grand opening” sometime in early December, along with an annex in the West Village.
As previously reported, the decades-old Rosario’s shuttered after the mandatory pandemic lockdown last spring. Never to reopen. Founded on East Houston in 1963 – adjacent to Katz’s – pizzeria was a family affair. It relocated to the northwest corner of Orchard and Stanton Streets since 1998.
