Moscot Family Buys Walkup Down the Block from Orchard Street Store
Eight years after the MOSCOT flagship store crossed the Delancey divide, the family acquired property just down the block.
Public records show that Harvey Moscot, fourth-generation owner and CEO of the century-old eyewear brand, purchased the five-story walkup at 94 Orchard Street. The deal closed earlier this month, under the shell name of SGEN, LLC, for a price tag of $4.75 million.
Could this be a play to eventually relocate the store into the retail space, formerly occupied by Top Hops Beer Shop?
MOSCOT is headquartered at 108 Orchard Street, its home of six years. The company moved here from across Delancey after Helm Equities purchased the original building – their location since 1936 – back in 2012 for $4.8 million,
