Pianos Returns to Ludlow Street in July
When Pianos announced its indefinite closure at the outset of the pandemic last year, hysteria gripped the local newsscape. So much so, that the Lower East Side venue backtracked the initial messaging to state that reopening would happen when safe to do so.
That time is apparently now. Being a bar and performance venue, Pianos can return at full indoor capacity per state edict.
And there is now the requisite sidewalk eatery on its Ludlow Street curb. Bringing the party outside, and no doubt soon to irk the neighbors. Currently under construction.
In recent years, Pianos has drawn the ire of locals for directly contributing to the “hell” that defines Hell Square. It’s been a long time since the venue was at all relevant in the former Ludlow music scene.
