Myplasticheart, the eclectic designer toy shop, recently fled its longtime perch on Forsyth Street for the greener pastures of Brooklyn. The small business had spent fifteen years on the block.
When asked about the move, ownership told us in an email that the deterioration of conditions in Sara D. Roosevelt Park across the street was partly to blame.
“It was a combination of the degradation of our street as well as opportunity,” a company spokesperson said. “We do miss the LES though!”
Founded in 2004 as an online endeavor selling pop culture tchotchkes, collectibles, and contemporary art, it would take another two years before Myplasticheart secured a physical location at 210 Forsyth Street.
