Proprietor of Pado to Open Korean Spot at Former Meatball Shop on Stanton Street
Dormant for some eighteen months, the Lower East Side storefront previously occupied by the Meatball Shop is finally reanimated. But a restaurant with an altogether different menu.
City records indicate that the former operators of Pado – the Second Avenue sushi joint that closed last October – intend to impart a reservation-only Korean restaurant at 84 Stanton Street. Dubbed 8282, proprietors Jee Young Kim and Bund Je Lo will serve a “modern” take on Korean cuisine. Twelve tables are planned for indoors, with another four for sidewalk dining under the Open Restaurants program.
The duo is on the Community Board 3 docket tomorrow night to obtain advisory approval for a full liquor license.
