Tropical Storm Ida Floods the Lower East Side

Last night, nearly ten years to the day that Hurricane Irene pillaged the city, its cousin Ida did just the same. Record flooding.
The tropical storm kicked up flood warnings and tornado watches right in the proverbial backyard.
Reports indicate that the city took on over four inches of rainfall during the historic overnight storm. In fact, Ida set a city record for most rainfall in an hour, with three inches of rain between 8:51 and 9:51pm in Central Park.
