La Colombe Ready to Roast at the Bowery Whole Foods
Popular coffee destination, La Colombe, is poised to open its first freestanding cafe on the Lower East Side.
The upscale coffee brand recently signed a lease for the cornershop unit at the Bowery Whole Foods. In the 783 square-foot space previously occupied by the grocer’s own Allegro Coffee subsidiary.
Unique about this ninth La Colombe location, according to Eater, is that it’s the first in the stable that doubles as a roastery. It’s also situated about five blocks from the Lafayette Street outpost.
This cafe will reportedly offer pastries by Clinton Hill-based Good Batch, as well as a new coffee blend made exclusively for this location dubbed the “Bowery Blend.”
The move is a play to capture the captive wallets of grocery shoppers at Whole Foods.
Expect an opening at 95 East Houston later this fall.
