Cafe Cherie Next in Line for Vacant Los Feliz on Ludlow Street

The pandemic ended Los Feliz. Now its former Ludlow Street home is eyed by another, and for more of the same.

Liquor license materials submitted to Community Board 3 reveal that a new multi-level nightspot called Cafe Cherie is likely on the way. With three stand-up bars and 26 tables across three floors, the newcomer aims to be a “NYC brasserie with international influences.”

The ground and basement levels are reportedly for dining, while a weekend-only club is planned for the cellar space.

Principals behind Cafe Cherie are hospitality vet Victor Robey (Don Chingon) and Ilya Kanevsky (Temakase), both of whom will plead their case for full liquor before CB3 this month.

Menu includes pricey dishes like yellowfin tuna, tenderloin burger, and filet mignon.

Given the renewed “Wild West” atmosphere in Hell Square during late-stage pandemic times, it’s not a stretch to say embattled neighbors might not take too kindly to such an enormous club-staurant.
