The Essex Street Snowman Isn’t Motivated
The powerful Nor’easter that clipped the city last weekend dumped close to a foot of snow. Yet, the Essex Street Snowman didn’t feel motivated to mobilize.
The frozen favorite was under construction yesterday, a full four days after the snowfall. But he’s yet to materialize.
The Shan Fu bodega at 1 Essex has spent the last eleven years building these enormous snowmen, as we’ve chronicled. It’s a marketing stunt that brings lots of attention to the business, especially via social media posts.
