Essex Market Juicery ‘Squeezes’ into East Village
Essex Squeeze is expanding into the East Village after two years of incubation in the Essex Street Market.
The juice bar, founded by two childhood friends from the Lower East Side (Cedric Hernandez and Charles DeLaCruz) in July 2020, just opened a dedicated brick-and-mortar space on East 5th Street, off Second Avenue. The spot previously occupied by Idlewild Coffee Co., which closed during the pandemic summer of 2020.
Essex Squeeze peddles specializes a variety of fresh-made juices, smoothies, and bowls, as well as coffee options.
Frequent Bowery Boogie contributor and longtime Lower East Side documentarian, Clayton Patterson, stopped by for a checkup.
