On Orchard Street, Jodamo Downsizing Footprint as Longtime HQ Hits Market

Big changes coming to the ground floor of the iconic “Pink Building” of the Lower East Side. One need only scope the leasing sign affixed to the facade of 321 Grand Street.

Jodamo, the longtime haberdasher in the marquee retail space at the southwest corner of Orchard and Grand, is about to move. But it’s staying.

According to the real estate brokerage, the space will command $20K per month in rent. We’re told that the business will move to a different space in the building.

Jodamo has been holding down the corner since 1983. Its showroom and basement, packed with racks of suits and formal wear, proved a destination. And certainly the last of its cloth here on Orchard Street.

Owner of the Pink Building is Continental Equities, which purchased the building in July 2013 for $27 million.
