Here we go.

The first signs of future foundation activity are now visible near the corner of Clinton and South Streets. It is here that the third of four super-tall skyscraper developments will rise in the coming years.

As previously reported, Starrett Corp. obtained permits two weeks ago for foundation activities beneath for its seventy-story behemoth at 259 Clinton Street. Shortly thereafter, the reinforcements arrived onsite – excavators, pile drivers, trucks.

The proposed waterfront development will pierce the sky at 710 feet, and boast 1,021 apartments (656k square-feet). Anticipated completion date is the first quarter of 2026, according to the Department of Buildings signage onsite.

The developer filed foundation plans ahead of approvals for the broader project. This apparent piecemeal approach is, according to neighbors in opposition of the towers, a tactic to capitalize on the 421a tax exemption set to expire June 15.

It’s also worth noting that Starrett listed the property for sale last fall for a whopping $100 million.
