Bike Repair ‘Fixit’ Stand Installed at Stanton and Chrystie
Cyclists can now self-repair bikes in the north end of Sara D. Roosevelt Park, thanks to new hardware installed outside the Stanton Storehouse.
The so-called Fixit stand is a publicly accessible amenity meant to help perform basic bike repair and maintenance. It includes a variety of tools suspended by cords (wrenches, screwdrivers), plus a separate bike pump; bikes can be hung on the arms. (The rig itself is made by a company called Dero.)
Its placement by Department of Transportation is apt given proximity to the high-trafficked protected bike lane along nearby Chrystie Street.
