Stoned Pizza Rolls up to Broome Street on 4/20

Weed pizza is a thing, and it’s happening soon on the Lower East Side.

Stoned Pizza is to take the dormant storefront at 302 Broome Street, last occupied by Omar’s La Boite. Ownership signed a ten-year lease on the 4,000 square-foot space, where patrons can order cannabis-infused pizza, appetizers and desserts, according to the Observer. Rent is about $35,000 per month.

Apparently the deal went through fairly quickly partly because liquor is not a component at Stoned Pizza. Fittingly, munchies spot is set to serve beginning 4/20.

Chef Chris Barrett, nicknamed “The Pizza Pusha,” has been serving weed-infused pies since 2017, first at private events and later with pickup and delivery options from the East Village location.

This particular address – 302 Broome – always seems to net notoriety in one form or another. From its controversial days as Happy Ending to Omar’s, which allegedly hosted parties in opposition to the state-mandated pandemic lockdown in spring 2020.
