Italian Ices Takes Over Former Friedman’s on Grand Street

Friedman’s opened its Lower East Side location in May 2021. It barely lasted a year at 357 Grand Street, and already another venture.
Indeed, the storefront is has traded the restaurant for the snack shop. Italian Ices. Signage and menu boards arrived over the weekend, teasing the new window service.
Flavors include mint chocolate chip, sour apple, and mango, along with a selection of soft-serve ice cream. Customers can order from two windows upon debut.
There is no official name for the ices spot. However, the frozen newcomer is potentially tied to its predecessor. Work permits related to electrical job dated last month reveal Jonah Phillips on the paperwork, the managing partner of Friedman’s.
