Man Slashed in Morning Attack at Delancey-Essex Subway Station
A male straphanger was slashed in an early-morning attack yesterday at the Delancey-Essex Subway Station.
Cops said that the Transit Bureau received a call at approximately 5:30am after a man was reportedly slashed multiple times in the station. The victim sustained severe, albeit non-life-threatening lacerations to the back, face, and abdomen.
The suspect fled in an unknown direction, according to police. The entire incident remains under investigation.
This Lower East Side Subway station has become a hotbed of crime over the last several months. Most recent was the attack-from-behind in June of a 19-year-old woman, whose assailant choked and stabbed her.
