Hotel Chantelle Purchases its Ludlow Street Building for $9.8M
Twelve years later, Hotel Chantelle is solidifying its presence on the Lower East Side. The popular nightclub just bought its longtime home.
We’re told that the lease on the space expired, and Hotel Chantelle decided to purchase 92 Ludlow Street outright. Price tag for the acquisition, including the air rights, is listed in public records as $9.8 million. The deal, which closed last week, also includes air rights.
(The property was last on the market in 2015.)
There are apparently no current plans to develop the stout mid-block warehouse building, but the owners having considered making good on the Hotel Chantelle name itself. In other words, an actual hotel here on Ludlow Street.
“We for sure plan on making some capital improvements to the exterior or the existing facade, as well as inside, while keeping the same vibe,” co-owner Seth Levine tells us. “Just a little updating.”
Hotel Chantelle debuted at 92 Ludlow Street in December 2010. The club replaced the Community Healthcare Network outpost that operated here for years (now at 255 East Houston).
