Behind the Plywood at Old Slipper Room

Two weeks ago, we had a sneak peek of the rendering for the spiffy new Slipper Room, courtesy of a small banner onsite. But that wasn’t enough of an advertisement. Oh, no! Now there is an enormous signboard of same sitting atop the sidewalk shed.

Slipper Room Demolition Begins

Demolition crews didn’t waste much time in dismantling the Slipper Room at 167 Orchard Street.  Less than a week after the burlesque venue had its final party, the big takedown of the one-story structure is already in effect.  And that tallish plywood encasement is hiding it all.

Slipper Room Announces Last Day and Closing Party

Wednesday, June 16, is officially the last day of the Slipper Room as we now know it.  The burlesque nightspot at 167 Orchard street will be hosting a special “closing night party” to kick off an extended period of demolition and construction.

The Sunday Show to Donate Money to Zucco Funeral Fund

This Sunday (2/28) is the first Sunday Show of 2010 at the Slipper Room on Orchard Street. One of the regular performers informed us that a portion of proceeds from this show will go toward ensuring Zucco can return to France.
