We were super-stoked to see the Cro-Mags play last night as part of the CBGB Festival, but our excitement quickly morphed to disappointment when founding bassist Harley Flannigan decided to brandish a knife in the VIP balcony section.

It was gonna be a cathartic night of headbanging and moshing at Webster Hall with a great hardcore lineup as part of the inaugural CBGB Festival – VOD, Cro-Mags, and Sick of it All.

Fidlar’s lo-fi surf vibes perfectly meshed with the CBGB image that this weekend’s events are trying to cultivate: the “we don’t care” DIY-or-die attitude that’s made them a rising favorite as a party band.

CBGB tees, chucks, and frayed jeans were in total attendance yesterday afternoon for the kickoff of the inaugural CBGB Festival. After all, that’s the uniform.
