As previously reported, Lower East Side mainstay Congee Village was sidelined last weekend due to an early-morning fire in its rear kitchen.

Congee Village Closed Until Further Notice

While the Lower East Side was still waking up, 101 Orchard Street was ablaze. Apparently a fire in the rear-facing kitchen of Congee Village spread through the building ductwork, and smoke enveloped the entire surrounding area.
