Grand Street is starting to resemble Delancey more and more these days, what with the arrival of chain stores galore in the last few years.

Score one for the Lower East Side. Grassroots efforts to prevent two chain stores from invading Grand Street have succeeded.

We just received an alarming email from one reader saying that both 7-Eleven and Dunkin’ Donuts are just a few days away from inking leases at two Seward Park retail spaces on Grand Street.

Last September, we learned that the Grand Spa was relocating from its alley-diggs at 389 Grand Street to the more visible storefront beside Noah’s Ark Deli.
