Last Vestige of Tuts is Gone

It’s official. The last vestige of Tuts’ virility on the Lower East Side is now gone from 196 Orchard Street. Instead, a new skeleton awning is now affixed to the facade, no doubt paving the way for the new Karaoke Boho signage.

As the TUTS signage continues to deteriote above 196 Orchard, work continues unabated on the future home of Karaoke Boho. Last night, we caught a sneak peek of progress behind the papered windows.

Progress Report: Karaoke Boho at 196 Orchard

In the last few weeks, the Sing Sing folks have been publicly readying their new Karaoke Boho outpost at 196 Orchard Street. The 19-room Karaoke joint was denied a liquor license back in September, as Community Board 3 didn’t want a “monstrosity” in a resolution area. Nevertheless, work continues within the Tuts-branded storefront.
