Olek Exhibit at Christopher Henry Gallery Extended

Olek’s stunning yarn bikes and yarn car seem to have captivated the neighborhood.  In our daily travels, we often see her artwork attracting gazes and photo lenses alike. Without fail.  So much so, that the Christopher Henry Gallery has decided to extend her exhibit, “Knitting is for Pus****.” Now’s your chance to check it out.

Olek’s New Yarn Car Exhibit

Looks like Polish artist Olek is back on the beat, easily one-upping her previous yarn bike effort. Parked outside the Christopher Henry Gallery at 127 Elizabeth Street is this fabulous yarn car.  It’s sheathed in a sleeve of bright colors and interesting patterns, and quite hard to miss.

New Stone Planters Outside Essex Street Market

There is a bit of new sidewalk masonry to report just outside the Essex Street Market.  Three of the four mid-block trees between Delancey and Rivington are no longer flush with the cracked concrete.  Instead, they are now rooted in raised stone planters, and accompanied by blooming flowers.

Vinyl Bike Spotted on Avenue A

The neighborhood favorite yarn bike now has some creative competition on the streets.  A crafty vinyl bike was recently spotted on Avenue A.  The records are melted over the frame and more are placed in the spokes.  Where can we buy one? [Photo Credit: Michael Madrigale] [via Tenement Talks]
