Roughly three weeks after the eight-foot plywood encasement was first constructed, major surgery has begun at 150 Bowery.  Hard hats with jackhammers were spotted yesterday dismantling the roof and further gutting the interior.

In response to our progress report on 150 Bowery last week, a reliable source informs us that the Brooklyn-based Japanese joint Zenkichi is no longer vying for this valuable corner space.
